I have over 45 years of experience in communications and market research. I’ve designed or managed thousands of studies about consumer and economic markets, communications influences and future trends. I’ve worked for consultancies and global marketers used Big Data and predictive analytics and started using the earliest Internet-based research systems in the 1990’s. I have BS and MBA degrees in marketing and communications.
I retired several years ago as EVP of one the world’s largest marketing research firms, but I was still interested in the fascinating opportunities emerging with the rapid development of the Internet. Net-based systems would change everything about how we do research in every field—it would now be easier to connect information and its influence on behavior—we would finally be able to connect the dots better than ever before. But as we’ve learned in recent years, Internet-based information can be used for good purposes or for malicious activities; 24/7 information capabilities are far ahead of our systems to control them.
My transition from “business” to critical issues, trends and metaphysics
If you are reading this it’s because I successfully followed the universal principles I will be writing about, how to transform our thoughts, ambitions, and ideas into real things.
I am also interested in and concerned about the world we live in, and how it can affect our own personal goals. There are now two big trends that have emerged:
The dramatic surge of interest in metaphysics — from simple meditation practices, self-empowerment to more sophisticated mindfulness and manifestation practices.
Increasingly dangerous trends in our economic, social, technological and environmental conditions.
I believe the two topics are now intertwined. We need to make better choices for ourselves and for the organizations and institutions that we’ve established to manage all our lives.
I was introduced to metaphysics ideas about 15 years ago when a friend recommended a book by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Manifest Your Destiny. I was familiar with some of the concepts but not all the specific practices nor the long history of the universal principles of attraction, manifestation, and synchronicity.
On almost every page of the books I read was a description that seemed like it was written just for me – about the frustrations and disappointments in trying to achieve goals and changes in my life. How constant negative thinking makes us feel, and how fears and doubts can influence our choices and actions that interfere with achieving our visions.
And if you are like me, you also may sometimes be confused, frustrated, bored or disappointed with the overload of information and the difficulty in applying the principles successfully to your own life.
I found a remarkable parallel between the universal principles of metaphysics and the new Internet research methods I was developing— how information affects our attitudes, expectations, and behavior in every aspect of our lives. The information we encounter affects our thoughts – which can be positive, negative, fearful, full of doubts or wildly ambitious. The phrase I found repeated throughout my research is stated in many ways:
• You attract what you think about.
• You are what you think.
• What you think about becomes your reality.
The ideas about the power of our thoughts is a very old idea, it’s not a secret. And there is remarkable evidence of the same ideas over the past 3,000 years of recorded history.
As I learned more and talked with people, I found an amazing consistency of interests and frustrations— and a desire for universal practices that would work for each of us.
So, a few years ago I decided not just to read more books, but to do my own research. I wanted to investigate the practices that had a history of success and look for the real-life examples of how people do transform their thoughts into their reality. If other people transformed their ideas into successful outcomes, how did they and how andhow could I do it too?
Why might you be interested in my research?
I’ve transformed my “thoughts” about writing a book, and published my first one in 2017, Our Choice-Extinction or Evolution.( Spitzer, Schurman)
The Manifestation Formula is my #2 success in transforming an idea into the published goal.
And #3 is The Margin of Error War- A cyber/political analysis of the epic 2016 election cyber war that changed the course of history.
I have consolidated all my business research activities into this new endeavor — to help us all better understand and manage the vast universe of information that influences us every day, and to create new practices that will help us use information for ourselves and the greater good.
I’ve now applied my research background to the creation of and the books I’ve written.
